T-Train Continues To Roll, James Johnstad Comes Back With A Vengance

Kody Kamm got the holeshot in the Pro Open final, Ross Martin lead laps two thru 10, but in the end, it was Tucker Hibbert standing on top of the box for the sixth straight time. Martin, who has been fast all season but uncharacteristically inconsistent, held on for the runner-up spot with Kamm earning his second podium in as many nights, finishing third.

Johan Lidman capped a breakout weekend for the Warnert Racing/NSK team, finishing fourth and backing up his previous night’s third place run. The big story in Pro Open was number two point man Kyle Pallin’s absence from the final. Pallin was knocked down by a flu bug early Saturday morning, spent a good part of the day in the hospital where he was treated for dehydration and then was knocked unconscious in a round two qualifier. Pallin stopped by the SnoX365  offices this morning on his way to Colorado and told us he suffered a mild concussion and will be off of the sled for a week but is expected to be 100% for Winter X.

In Pro Lite, James Johnstad, dominated the final and re-established himself at a title contender after breaking his collarbone just five weeks ago and only taking starts at rounds three and four in Bessemer, Michigan. Corey Watkinson had his best weekend of the season, finishing in the runner-up spot. This along with a fifth place finish on Friday, now have the Port Carling, Ontario racer sitting in fifth on the family-run Arctic Cat team.

Zac Mason turned in his second straight podium performance on the REEL Cameras Polaris, finishing third and propelling himself into fourth overall in points.

The Sport class continues to be a battle of the brands as Ryan Springer scored the win on night number two for Carlson Motorsports and Polaris. Luke Wollenberg was second on his red racer, while Dex Savage represented for Ski-Doo and Stud Boy in third. Point leader Tyler Adams was fifth on his Cat, but continues to hold a 19 point edge over Montana Jess.

Ryan Springer soared to the win in Sport, adding to the Carlson Motorsports team's weekend collection of big plaques.

Some rough outings have lead to Ross Martin pushing himself more than maybe necessary but a second on Saturday could be just the answer.

Hibbert had to work for this one but is still the easy favorite heading into X Games. Will there be a let down when the tour resumes in Deadwood, South Dakota?
