The A.M. Report – Deadwood, SD

With eight different venues on the National snocross tour and each having there own character that sets them apart from the next, the Deadwood Shoot out in Deadwood, South Dakota has to be the most picturesque location that we visit. Surrounded by mountains and neighboring towns like Sturgis and Lead with the creek where the Black Hills Gold Rush all started, running right out in front of the Days of 76 Rodeo arena, yeah this venue is cool.

This was the 3rd Annual Deadwood Shoot out and the ISOC crew delivered another great race track and the media crew put on yet another great production live and on live stream for the viewers at home.

Entries where lower than most races as some racers opt to stay home and skip the western swing of the ACSS, but SnoX365 was there and we had a great time watching history being made with Tucker Hibbert winning his 100th pro national title.

But as you know we are there for all the racers and not just the Pro and Pro-Lites. The big show during the day at this event was the Amateur classes, and they were jammed packed full of great snocross racing. As always in racing there are highs and lows and this week was no different. Deadwood has a history of first-time winners and podium positions in past races and this race proved to be the same. We saw Kaden Woodie get his first win in the Amateur class and Evan Christian stepped up on that illusive box for the first time with a 2nd in Jr. Novice.

Deadwood can also prove to be a tuff day for a rider as well, and this past weekend the Days of 76 track played no favorites and claimed a few victims thru out the race weekend. It was a long, fun weekend that finished with a beautiful snow fall over the area that made it a long ride home for most teams that have a short week to get ready to head to the east coast for this week’s New York National.

As always SnoX365 will be there to cover all the action from the pro classes all the way down to the 120s. For those of you making your way east, please travel safe and we will see you in New York.
